Iran Blames Hezbollah for Drone Attack on Netanyahu’s Residence

Israel PM

Iran’s mission to the United Nations has stated that Hezbollah, a Lebanese group supported by Tehran, was responsible for the recent drone attack on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s residence. The confirmation came in response to inquiries about Iran’s involvement, with the official IRNA news agency reporting that Iran blames Hezbollah for the incident.

Netanyahu had accused Hezbollah of trying to assassinate him after a drone from Lebanon targeted his home, which he said was a “grave mistake” by Iran’s proxy. Though Hezbollah has not yet claimed responsibility, Netanyahu warned of severe consequences for those targeting Israeli citizens.

Iranian officials rejected Israeli claims, calling them lies, while also emphasizing their backing of groups like Hezbollah, who are part of the “axis of resistance.” The attack comes amid heightened tensions in the region, as pro-Iranian forces have been drawn into the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict, with Iran warning of retaliation if Israel strikes back.
