Combs is being detained in isolation at the Metropolitan Detention Center’s Brooklyn Special Housing Unit. R. Kelly was detained in this federal jail both before and during the R&B singer’s trial. Kelly was convicted in 2022 of sex trafficking and racketeering, and she was given a 30-year prison sentence.
Kelly has since been moved, and according to The Associated Press, as of last year, she is being held at a federal prison in North Carolina.
Ghislaine Maxwell, an associate of Jeffrey Epstein who was sentenced to 20 years in prison in 2022 for aiding him in the sexual abuse of young girls, is one of the other well-known inmates at the facility. Since then, Maxwell has also been relocated, and he is presently being held in a “honor dorm” at a federal facility in Florida.
