After being hit by missiles fired by the Houthi movement, the crew of a cargo ship registered in Britain but flying the flag of Belize has abandoned ship off the coast of Yemen. The latest ship struck by the Houthis has reportedly taken significant damage.Yemeni group continued to target ships in the Red Sea demanding an end to Israel’s war on Gaza.
Meanwhile Houthi statement identified the Belize-flagged ship as the Rubymar, a bulk carrier that shipping tracking services said was traveling from the United Arab Emirates to Bulgaria.British maritime security firm Ambrey said the second ship was a Greece-flagged, U.S.-owned bulk carrier that was traveling from Argentina to Yemen’s port of Aden when it reported the attack Monday.
