Germany: Six are injured in a knife attack on a bus

The incident occurs at a time when concerns over the rise in stabbings and other violent crimes in the nation are intensifying. There were no signs, according to the police, that it was a terrorist attack.
According to a statement from the local police force, people were detained following the incident in the town of Siegen, with no signs suggesting it was a terrorist attack.

One victim is critically hurt, three of the five are in critical condition, and the fifth is only slightly hurt.

A week ago, a stabbing attack in the western city of Solingen, Germany, left three people dead and eight injured.

Debate over Germany’s immigration and asylum policies was sparked by the discovery of the suspected attacker, a 26-year-old Syrian man who was previously scheduled for deportation to Bulgaria.

The government of Chancellor Olaf Scholz has announced new limitations on carrying knives in public and on long-distance transportation in response to the killings. Additionally, benefits for certain illegal migrants will be reduced.
