Omid Nouripour and Ricarda Lang, the co-leaders of the German Green Party, have resigned.In the disastrous state election of Brandenburg, the party lost seats and garnered less than 5 percent of the vote. The Green Party’s national co-chairman, Omid Nouripour, informed reporters early on Wednesday that he and co-chair Ricarda Lang would be stepping down.
“We came to the conclusion in Berlin that we need to start over,” Nouripour said.
He said that new leadership should be chosen at the party conference in November.
