French actor Alain Delon passes away at the age of 88.

The French film industry’s golden age featured the actor, who gained fame for his rugged on-screen persona in popular films such as Borsalino and The Samurai.
According to a statement provided to the AFP news agency, “He passed away peacefully in his home in Douchy, surrounded by his three children and his family.”
Delon has become a virtual recluse due to his poor health in recent years. His family’s disintegration had been making headlines in France more recently.
