Ex-president of Argentina Fernandez is accused of abuse

In Argentina, a prosecutor has requested that former President Alberto Fernandez be charged with assault and intimidation against his ex-wife. Fernandez has strenuously denied the allegations.

Argentina’s former President, Alberto Fernandez, was formally charged with committing violence against former first lady Fabiola Yanez on Wednesday.

In papers filed with the court, prosecutor Ramiro Gonzalez requested that the former president be charged with “minor and serious injuries” and “coercive threats.”

There was proof, he claimed, that Yanez had “suffered a relationship marked by physical aggression, psychological harassment, and gender-based and domestic violence.”
