European leaders will hold an emergency summit in France to address the Ukraine crisis and security concerns in Europe.

European Leaders

An informal meeting is scheduled for Monday in Paris, according to the French presidential office.

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, and French President Emmanuel Macron will all be attending. NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen will also be present.

The action was taken in response to disagreements between the European governments and US President Donald Trump’s administration over how to stop Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

According to Ukraine and Europe, any conflict resolution talks should not move forward without their participation. However, Keith Kellogg, the US special envoy for Russia and Ukraine, has indicated that the US does not anticipate direct European engagement in talks.

It has also been revealed that the Trump administration has questioned European countries about their potential contributions to Ukraine’s security.
