Cuba’s national power grid was out of service on Friday after one of the country’s main power plants failed, the Energy Ministry said.
The Antonio Guiteras power plant went offline just before noon on Friday, causing a total blackout and leaving about 10 million people without power.

“There will be no deadline until (power) is restored,” Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel told X. Authorities said by mid-afternoon that they had begun taking steps to restore power, but that the process would take time.
