Cowboys QB Prescott set to be NFL’s highest-paid player – Quarterback Dak Prescott of the Dallas Cowboys has agreed to a contract extension that will make him the highest-paid player in NFL history. Prescott will be the highest-paid player in NFL history at $60 million (£46 million) per season, surpassing the $55 million (£42 million) average annual salary on new contracts signed by Trevor Lawrence, Jordan Love, and Joe Burrow. At just $1 million (£760,000) more than the Cleveland Browns gave Deshaun Watson in 2022, the guaranteed amount of $231 million is also a record. News of the deal, which will run until the end of the 2028 season, emerged just hours before Dallas were due to kick off their 2024 season – with a trip to Cleveland to face Watson’s Browns.
