Climbers rescued after three days on mountain

Fay Manners, from Bedfordshire, and her climbing partner, Michelle Dvorak, from the US, were climbing Mount Chaukhamba in northern India when the rope carrying their food, tent and gear fell . The climb stopped, leaving them stunned.

The two men sent an emergency message to more than 6,096 meters above sea level, but search and rescue teams were initially unable to find them.

Ms Manners told the BBC that the two men were “terrified” as they had tried to reach the halfway point before meeting rescuers.
