In September, a 14-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of having stabbed a woman and repeatedly stabbed an 80-year-old man in the back in the Stockholm suburb of Hässelby. Both attacks were filmed and spread in a Telegram channel linked to the violent internet movement 764.

The boy has confessed to both crimes and is now deemed guilty of aggravated assault and attempted murder, according to SVT.

Since the boy was under 15 years old at the time and therefore not criminally liable, he cannot be convicted of a crime. The case has instead ended up with the administrative court, which has determined that the acts are so serious that the boy should be taken into care and provided with youth care according to the LVU.

SVT has previously reported that at least six more attacks have taken place in Hässelby and been posted in the Telegram channel. These involve filmed violent crimes where people, including several elderly and frail individuals, are beaten down and assaulted or lie on the ground.

According to the administrative court’s ruling, the boy was previously suspected of four cases of assault earlier this year, but the suspicions were dropped.

The boy is further said to have had a leading role in the Swedish branch of the online movement 764 and the subgroup NLM (No lives matter).
