Israel resumes Beirut Bombings

Beirut bombings

Aljazeera Reports (By Alastair Mccready):

Israeli airstrikes on the southern suburbs of Beirut persisted overnight, as Lebanon’s Health Ministry reports that over 2,000 people have been killed so far in Israel’s attacks across the country, including 127 children and 261 women. The ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas has intensified, leading to widespread casualties and destruction in the region.

Hamas confirmed that one of its commanders in Tulkarem was killed during an Israeli airstrike on a West Bank refugee camp, which left at least 18 people dead. The Israeli jet fighter attack has heightened tensions in the occupied West Bank as Israel continues to target Hamas leadership.

Meanwhile, the United States announced it carried out airstrikes on 15 locations in Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen, signaling further escalation in the broader Middle East conflict.

Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, during a visit to Beirut, warned Israel against launching any attacks on Iran, stating that Tehran’s “retaliation will be stronger than the previous one.” This comment comes as fears of a broader regional war loom.

In Gaza, the death toll from Israeli attacks since October 2023 has soared, with at least 41,802 people killed and nearly 96,844 injured. The humanitarian crisis continues to worsen as Israeli strikes persist. In Israel, at least 1,139 people were killed in the Hamas-led attacks on October 7, with more than 200 civilians taken hostage.

The situation remains volatile, with global leaders calling for restraint as the conflict threatens to escalate further.
