Barclays doubles investment in women’s football and renews sponsorship of Premier League

WSL and Barclays reach a new £45 million sponsorship agreement.
To continue serving as the title sponsor of the Women’s Super League and Women’s Championship, a new three-year deal has been reached with Barclays. The estimated yearly value of the deal, including marketing and investment, is around £15 million, double that of the previous contract, which ends at the end of this season. Women’s Professional Leagues Limited (WPLL), the WSL’s new takeover company, has secured its first significant contract. The biggest deal in women’s domestic football is reportedly the renewal of the title sponsorship, which Barclays took over in 2019. Over the past few years, attendance and viewing figures have consistently increased throughout the past few years.
