The Palestinian Ministry of Health announced Thursday evening that an Israeli airstrike in the occupied West Bank town of Tulkarem killed at least eighteen people.

The Wafa news agency, run by the Palestinian Authority, said the airstrike hit a cafe in the Tulkarem refugee camp where many civilians were staying.
The Israeli military said the air force carried out an attack in Tulkarem in a joint operation with its Shin Bet security service and killed the head of Hamas in Tulkarem and “other important terrorists”.
Violence has increased in the West Bank since Hamas’ deadly attack on Israel on October 7 and following the war in Gaza.
