Acid attack at west London school leaves girl and boy in hospital

Two teenage students and a staff member are hospitalized following an acid attack at a west London school, as reported by the local media.
A search is currently being conducted for the perpetrator of the horrifying incident at Westminster Academy in Paddington, where a suspected acidic substance was thrown at students and a staff member at around 4.40 p.m.
When they flagged down police officers on patrol, academy staff found three injured people.
One of those girls, fourteen years old, is still in the hospital with potentially fatal injuries.
The 16-year-old boy who was also hospitalized did not have any injuries that would be deemed life-threatening or transformative, according to a police spokesperson.
A 27-year-old woman was also rushed to hospital for treatment after the attack but has since been discharged.
Two police officers were also taken to hospital “as a precaution” after they reporting feeling unwell.
A Scotland Yard spokesperson said: “Tests of the substance are ongoing. At this stage officers believe it to be acidic.
“Urgent enquiries are under way to identify and arrest those responsible.
“A number of crime scenes are in place.”
Westminster Academy said on its website that “unforeseen circumstances” caused the site to close on Tuesday.
