According to UNIFIL spokesperson Andrea Tenenti on Sunday, three peacekeepers were “lightly injured” when an explosion occurred near their clearly marked UN vehicle in the village of Yarine in southern Lebanon.
“All peacekeepers in the patrol returned safely to their base,” the spokesperson said, but she did not go into detail about what caused the explosion.
“We are looking into what took place. Everyone concerned is being warned that it is their responsibility to safeguard civilians and peacekeepers.
