A woman has died after being hit by a bus in Islington on Thursday afternoon. Police and paramedics were called to Baron Street following reports of a collision between a bus and a pedestrian at 2.30pm. Despite the best efforts of emergency services, a woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigations continue to notify his relatives. Road closures remain in place. No arrests have been made. A spokesman for the London Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 2.26pm today to reports of a road traffic collision at the junction of White Lion Street and Baron Street, Islington. “We sent a number of resources including ambulance crews, an incident response officer and the London Air Ambulance. “We treated a woman, but unfortunately, despite our best efforts, she died at the scene.”
