A Russian airstrike on a prison in Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhia region has killed at least 17 people and wounded more than 80 others.

Russian strikes on a penal colony in the frontline region of Zaporizhzhia in southwestern Ukraine overnight killed at least 17 people and wounded more than 80 others, regional Ukrainian military and Zaporizhzhia’s governor said on Tuesday. The prison dining hall was destroyed and administrative buildings damaged but no prisoners escaped, Ukrainian authorities say.
