A 16-year-old boy is charged with murder after stabbing a man in East Ham Park.

A 16-year-old boy in Newham, east London, has been charged with murder following the death of a man who was fatally stabbed in a public park.
The victim, identified as 20-year-old Imran Maroof, passed away on July 27 in Plashet Park, East Ham, after being discovered with stab wounds.
According to Met police, a teenage boy from Newham who cannot be identified legally because of his age was accused of killing Mr. Maroof on Friday.
He is scheduled to appear at the Old Bailey on Tuesday of next week after making an appearance at Bexley Magistrates’ Court on Friday.
Police were called to reports of a fight in Plashet Park around 7.40pm on July 27.
Officers attended and found Mr Maroof with stab injuries.
A Met spokesperson stated, “He tragically passed away at the scene despite the efforts of emergency services.”
“Specialist officers are still providing support to his family.
“Investigations are being conducted by Specialist Crime Command detectives.”
