A 16-year-old boy has died after being injured by a falling tree

A 16-year-old boy tragically died after being struck by a falling tree near Worksop in Nottinghamshire. Nottinghamshire Police responded to reports of a serious injury at Rotherham Baulk in Carlton-in-Lindrick on Saturday, June 15. Despite the efforts of paramedics, the boy was pronounced dead at the scene.

Following the incident, Nottinghamshire Police arrested two men, aged 28 and 31, on suspicion of manslaughter. Additionally, a 28-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. All three suspects are currently in police custody. Detective Inspector Simon Harrison described the incident as “tragic” and confirmed that the boy’s family is being supported by specialist officers during this difficult time.

In a statement, Detective Harrison expressed condolences to the boy’s family and urged anyone with information to come forward. He appealed for witnesses or individuals with CCTV, doorbell camera, or dashcam footage to contact the police to assist in the ongoing investigation.
