An American tourist who hit a Thai woman while riding a dirt bike was deeply emotional and fell to his knees upon learning she died.
Philip Edward Morrow, 38, is being charged with reckless driving causing death for hitting pedestrian Kia Sae-wang, 58, as she crossed the street to go to a restaurant in Chiang Mai province Thursday morning, according to the Khaosod English.
Harrowing photos show first responders trying to save the local woman, who succumbed to her injuries at a local hospital.
The American tourist was seen down on his knees at the scene of the crash — and then again at the police station, where he prostrated himself before Sae-wang’s family in “deep remorse,” the outlet reported.
