A 10-year-old girl has died from “serious injuries” after being bitten by her family’s dog at her home in North Yorkshire.
Police say they were called to the property in the town of Malton, to the north-east of York, at around 4.15pm on Friday.The breed of the dog has not yet been reported, and police have asked the public not to speculate about the incident.
The animal had been secured inside a car by a family member before the arrival of the emergency services.
