Netanyahu moves troops northward

As tensions with Lebanon rise, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is having a security consultation at the IDF headquarters in Tel Aviv with senior ministers, as well as chiefs of defense and security.

There are still hopes that a full-scale conflict can be avoided, according to Channel 12, even though it is evident that Israel is getting ready for war with Hezbollah in an effort to get Israeli citizens back to their homes in the north.

According to the report, which cites senior officials, Israel thinks that its recent use of force may persuade Hezbollah to accept a diplomatic resolution to the conflict.

“Israelis must be prepared for dramatic days in the north,” a senior official warns.

Hezbollah-led forces have been attacking Israeli communities and military posts along the border almost every day since October 8. The group claims that it is doing this to support Gaza during the conflict there.
