Premier Giorgia Meloni posted a message on social media on Wednesday to commemorate the anniversary of the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001.
“Somedays will always be etched in our memories,” Meloni remarked.
Things happen that alter history and the lives of a great number of people forever.
“One such date was September 11, 2001.
a horrific terrorist attack that targeted the core of both the West and the United States of America.
Twenty-three years later, our hearts go out to the families and thousands of innocent victims.
In honor of their memory, we remain steadfast in our resolve to combat Islamic fundamentalism and all types of terrorism in order to uphold the principles of freedom and democracy, which are the cornerstones of both our culture and Constitution.
“We are not going to forget.”
