In a tragic morning near Buxton, Derbyshire, five motorcyclists lost their lives in two separate collisions. The first accident occurred around 9:45 a.m. on the A53, involving three Ducati motorcycles, a van, and a car. All three bikers, men in their 50s, were pronounced dead at the scene. The van driver and two car passengers were hospitalized, though their injuries are not considered life-threatening.
Less than thirty minutes later, a second collision between a car and two motorcyclists on the A6 between Buxton and Dove Holes claimed the lives of both riders.
Derbyshire Police have informed the families of the victims and are appealing to the public for witnesses and dashcam footage to aid their investigations. The force expressed their condolences, stating, “Our thoughts are with the families during this difficult time.”
