Hamas has confirmed that two of its senior operatives were killed in an Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) drone strike in the West Bank city of Jenin. The operatives, identified as Ahmed Abu Ara, a senior figure, and Raafat Dawasi, a commander in the group’s local wing in Jenin, were targeted in the attack.
According to Hamas, both men were involved in planning and executing several recent attacks. These include a deadly roadside bombing in Jenin on June 27, a bombing against Defense Ministry employees at the West Bank security barrier on July 23, and a fatal terror shooting in the Jordan Valley on Sunday.
The IDF and Israel’s Shin Bet security agency have also linked Dawasi and Abu Ara to the Jordan Valley shooting, along with other attacks in the region.
