The case is concentrated on the death of the owner of a grocery store who was struck by a police bullet last month while the students were being suppressed.
Following the police killing of a man during civil unrest last month, a court in Bangladesh has opened a murder investigation against former premier Sheikh Hasina and six other high-ranking officials in her administration.
More than 450 people were killed during the weeks of unrest leading up to her toppling.
“A lawsuit has been filed against Sheikh Hasina and six other people,” said Mamun Mia, an attorney for one of the plaintiffs.
