A suspicious explosion kill two people in Bristol. Police are also investigating at another address-

Woman and man died in explosion after ‘domestic-related incident’

Superintendent Matt Ebbs is updating journalists in Bristol.

At 6.17am, police received a call to attend a “domestic-related incident”, he says.

Before officers arrived, there was an explosion at 6.30am.

A woman and a man died at the address in Sterncourt Road.

A man, a woman and a child were taken to hospital to treat minor injuries.

He repeats that officers are not looking for anyone else and they are not treating the incident as terror-related.

Police are making enquiries at a separate property in Speedwell, Bristol, which was linked to the man who died.

A cordon was put in place to protect the public and allow for enquiries and specialist searches by the British Army’s explosive ordnance disposal unit, as a precaution, Ebbs adds

Officers carrying out enquiries at second property
Police have put a cordon in place around the house where the explosion happened, in Sterncourt Road.

But officers are also carrying out enquiries in another area of Bristol after the explosion.

“Officers are also carrying out enquiries at a property in Speedwell linked to this incident,” Avon and Somerset Police said.
The force said a cordon had been put in place at Sterncourt Road “as a precaution to help keep the public safe”.

It said people living within the cordon were “being evacuated to a temporary rest centre”.

There is not believed to be any significant damage to other properties,” the statement added.
