Media: Next US-Iran talks expected this weekend-

New developments are arising that may signal an end to the conflict between the US and Iran. US President Donald Trump says talks will “go on over the weekend.”

Trump told reporters on Friday: “We’re having a big day. We’ll see how it all turns out, but it should be good.”

Axios reports the two sides will likely meet on Sunday for a second round of talks in Islamabad. It said Pakistan will mediate the negotiations with behind-the-scenes help from Egypt and Turkey. It cited US officials as saying the two sides are discussing a three-page plan to end the conflict. And Bloomberg reported that Trump said Iran has agreed to suspend its nuclear program indefinitely.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said on social media Friday that passage through the Strait of Hormuz has resumed for “all commercial vessels.” He said the decision is in line with a ceasefire in Lebanon.

Trump welcomed the news. He posted that Iran, with the help of the US, “is removing” all its mines in the waterway. However, he said the US naval blockade on Iranian ports will remain in place for now.
