Border clashes between Afghanistan and Pakistan have escalated sharply since Thursday, with both sides claiming to have inflicted heavy casualties.
Pakistan’s information minister said on Sunday that 415 Afghan militants have been killed and more than 580 wounded.
In a post on X, Attaullah Tarar said Pakistani forces have destroyed 182 Afghan outposts, captured 31 others and knocked out 185 Taliban tanks, armored vehicles and artillery pieces.
Pakistani airstrikes have reportedly hit 46 locations across Afghanistan.
The interim Taliban government says its forces killed 55 Pakistani soldiers and seized two bases and 19 posts.
Tensions rose last month after Pakistan bombed what it said were Afghan extremist strongholds. Those strikes reportedly killed and injured dozens, including women and children.
The latest violence comes despite earlier ceasefire efforts mediated by Qatar and Turkey, which have so far failed to produce lasting results.
