
Japan won the bronze medal in the women’s team pursuit event in the speed skating competition at the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic Winter Games on Tuesday.
This is Japan’s third straight Olympic medal in the event.
Japan faced off with the United States at the match for third place. The Japanese skaters were Takagi Miho, Sato Ayano, and Noake Hana.
Takagi broke the record she held for the number of medals won by a female Japanese Olympic athlete by winning her 10th medal.
Tuesday’s victory brought Japan’s total number of medals to 19 at the Winter Olympics, surpassing the country’s previous record set at the 2022 Winter Games in Beijing.

Her main rivals are likely to be Croatian 21-year-old and slalom World Cup winner Zrinka Ljutic and Camille Rast, who last year became the first Swiss racer since 1991 to win the slalom world title.
Snowboard: Men’s slopestyle final (10:20-11:40)

Reigning Olympic and world champion Zoi Sadowski-Synnott of New Zealand topped qualification, ahead of the Netherlands’ Melissa Peperkamp.
The rest of the field were at least nine points behind the pair.
The riders have three runs to impress the judges, with their best score counting.

US star Jordan Stolz, 21, came into these Games targeting gold in the 500m, 1000m and 1500m, with this competition potentially giving him the chance of a famous hat-trick. He has won all five of this season’s World Cup races over 1500m.
