In Khulna, a BNP leader died after falling ill following an altercation with a Jamaat activist outside the Alia Madrasa polling centre in the city’s Khan Jahan Ali Road area around 7:45am.The deceased was identified as Mahibuzzaman Kachi, former office secretary of Khulna city unit BNP.
Of the four deaths, one occurred in Khulna, while the rest were reported in Manikganj, Kishoreganj, and Brahmanbaria.

The deceased was identified as Mahibuzzaman Kachi, former office secretary of Khulna city unit BNP.
The city unit BNP in a statement alleged that Kachi was pushed by the madrasa’s former principal Abdur Rashid Miah, a Jamaat activist, following an altercation over seeking votes outside the polling station.
Kachi was taken to Khulna City Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him dead.
Talking to journalists, Abdur Rashid admitted that there was an altercation, but he claimed he did not push anyone.
