The Thai government said in a statement on Sunday that a delegation led by Thai acting Prime Minister Phumtham Wechayachai is expected to meet Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet and other officials in Kuala Lumpur.

Clashes between the Thai and Cambodian militaries have continued in border areas since Thursday. More than 30 people have been killed.

Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has been acting as a mediator. Malaysia is currently the chair of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, or ASEAN.

US President Donald Trump on Saturday called on Thailand and Cambodia to stop fighting.
