EU and US agree trade deal, with 15% tariffs for European exports to America.

Trump and President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen met for talks in Scotland on Sunday – she has called the agreement a “huge deal”

The new deal is set to kick in on Friday, and means the Europe will avoid threatened import charges of 30%
Speaking after talks in Turnberry, Mr Trump said it was the “biggest deal ever made” and will be “great for cars” as well as having a “big impact” on agriculture.

The US will impose 15% tariffs on EU goods entering America, after Mr Trump had threatened a 30% levy.
Mr Trump said: “I think it’s great that we made a deal today instead of playing games and maybe not making a deal at all.”

“I think it’s the biggest deal ever made.
President Donald Trump and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced the U.S. has reached a trade deal with the European Union.
“It’s a very powerful deal, it’s a very big deal, it’s the biggest of all the deals,” Trump said.
The U.S. president had previously threatened 30% tariffs on goods from the European Union.
Ahead of his meeting with von der Leyen, Trump said that it was a 50-50 chance they’d make a deal.
