Attack in Karak district targets police vehicle in sensitive oil and gas region
LAKKI MARWAT: Five cops were killed after a police mobile came under attack in Gurguri area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Karak on Tuesday.
The district police spokesman, Shaukat Khan, confirmed the incident and the casualties, saying that all of the killed personnel were constables.
The killed policemen were identified as constables Shahid Iqbal, Samiullah, Arif, Safdar and Muhammad Abrar, who was also the mobile’s driver, Khan added.
This is the latest in a series of attacks targeting police personnel in the province. Last week, a police official and his brother were killed.

Earlier this month, a cop was killed while five others were injured in a suicide blast targeting a police mobile in Lakki Marwat. In November, three police personnel were killea as law enforcers responded to a terrorist attack on a checkpost in Hangu.
