The elderly couple who disappeared when they were out picking mushrooms in Boxholm’s forests has been found dead, confirms the police. The terrain where they were found is described as difficult, very hilly and with dense forest.The couple was found on Saturday during a search operation led by the organization Missing people, where approximately 200 people participated.The couple in their 80s from Mjölby was reported missing on Monday, but the police suspect that they ventured into the forest already last Friday.
On Wednesday, the police ended their active search operation when they assessed that the couple would not be found alive. The couple had then been searched for with a dog patrol and drones. Even the Home Guard, a hundred volunteers, and Missing people participated.
