Police in the Netherlands have detained 2 suspects following 2 explosions outside the same house in the village of Tisselt, near Willebroek (Antwerp Province). The first explosion was on Sunday night and on Monday night a petrol bomb was thrown at the house on the Blaasveldstraat. No one was injured in the attacks.
A petrol bomb was thrown at the house at around 12:30am on Monday night. The Antwerp prosecutor’s office says that the house that was targeted is the same house outside which a car was burned out on Sunday night in Tisselt.
Kato Belmans of the Antwerp prosecutor’s office told VRT News that “Passers-by extinguished the fire. No one was injured , but there is a material damage. The front door of the house was damaged”.
Federal police forensics officers and the bomb disposal service DOVO went to the scene to investigate.
Following the second explosion police in the Netherlands intercepted a suspicious vehicle. The 2 people inside were detained. They will be questioned by police. An eventual link between the 2 explosions and whether they are connected to the trade in illegal narcotics is currently being investigated.
