Iran announced that all flights were canceled overnight. Flights at all Iranian airports have been canceled from 21:00 local time tomorrow, Iran’s Mehr news agency reported, citing a spokesman for Iran’s Civil Aviation Organization.
A notice to pilots, or NOTAM, sent by Iranian authorities confirms the closure, while providing exemptions for “emergency flights, ferry flights and state aircraft”.
Another state media outlet, IRNA, cited “operational restrictions” for the closure, which could be linked to an expected Israeli counterattack after an Iranian missile attack last year.
