A woman was fatally stabbed in Tower Hamlets, leading to two arrests.
After a stabbing in Tower Hamlets, a murder inquiry is underway.
On Sunday, September 15, at around 01:17 a.m., police were called to an address on Duckett Street, E1, regarding a woman who had been stabbed.
The woman, who was thought to be in her 30s, was declared dead at the scene despite the arrival of London Ambulance Service as well.
The next of kin have been notified and are still receiving assistance from officers with specialized training.
As part of this investigation, detectives have taken two people into custody.Not long after, a 32-year-old woman was taken into custody on murderous suspicions. She is still being held.
A 37-year-old man is being held in custody after being detained on suspicion of aiding an offender.
Leading the investigation is the Met’s Specialist Crime Command’s Acting Detective Chief Inspector Ben Dalloway, who stated: “This is a tragic incident which has resulted in a young woman losing her life.” All those involved seem to know one another, and they were present at the address all evening.
“Although the investigation is still in its early phases, we have made great strides and taken two people into custody. We are not currently searching for any additional individuals related to this incident.
“Officers will be working at the location to complete necessary tasks, and I would ask the residents to be patient while we do this. Additionally, I would like to ask that you get in touch if you saw anything or have any information that could help us.
Tower Hamlets-based Detective Superintendent Mike Cagney stated, “My thoughts are with the family of this young woman at this very difficult time.” Cagney works for the Central East Command Unit.My officers are collaborating closely with our specialized colleagues to determine the precise cause of this terrible incident.
