Daniel Jones injury guarantee could add to Giants’ QB dilemma

The New York Giants began considering their quarterback options well in advance of Daniel Jones’ $23 million injury guarantee for the 2025 season.

There are questions about Jones’ future in New York because the Giants play a quarterback that they seriously considered trading up to draft on Sunday.

While watching the HBO offseason version of “Hard Knocks,” head coach Brian Daboll and general manager Joe Schoen of the Giants were sitting together when they began analyzing one of the top quarterbacks in the 2024 draft class.

“Daniels,” Schoen said, alluding to Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Jayden Daniels of LSU. “Since you have seen enough, would you guys trade up for him?”

To which Daboll replied, “Daniels? I would.
