More than 15 people killed, 40 injured in Haiti tanker truck explosion

Following an explosion close to Miragoane in the southern Nippes region of Haiti, officials say that the injured have been taken to a hospital.
“The government stands in solidarity with all the victims and their families,” states Haiti’s acting prime minister, Garry Conille.

According to interim prime minister Garry Conille, a tanker truck carrying gasoline exploded in southern Haiti, killing over 15 and injuring over 40.
In a social media post on Saturday, Conille stated that he had spoken with the authorities in the Nippes region, where the explosion occurred, and that other officials and civil protection crews had been mobilized.
