Intel Solidifies $3.5 Billion Deal to Make Chips for Military
According to people familiar with the matter, Intel Corp. has officially qualified for up to $3.5 billion in federal grants to produce semiconductors for the Pentagon after the chipmaker and US officials came to a legally binding agreement.
The covert initiative known as Secure Enclave aims to start producing cutting-edge chips for use in military and intelligence applications. According to Bloomberg, it encompasses several states and a manufacturing facility located in Arizona.
