Kamala Harris Beats Donald Trump 63%-37%, Post-Debate Survey Suggests

The majority of American voters agree that Vice President Kamala Harris outperformed Donald Trump in Tuesday’s presidential debate. based on a CNN viewer survey conducted by independent research firm SSRS.
Viewers of the debate selected Harris 63% of the time over 37%, indicating that they thought she performed better. The two candidates were tied for first place in a poll done prior to the debate by Siena College and The New York Times. Just 69% of Trump’s supporters agreed that their candidate had performed better after the debate, compared to 96% of Harris’s supporters who thought the same.

The Democratic candidate is accused of inciting her opponent’s wrath on a wide range of issues, including abortion and foreign policy. Mr. Trump later declared that this had been his “best debate,” in contrast to what the flash polls had indicated. The campaign of Ms. Harris has challenged him to a rematch in October.

This is a major departure from the June debate, in which President Joe Biden was a contender. Polls at the time showed that Mr. Trump had a higher percentage than his opponent, 67% to 33%.

However, these polls do not represent the views of all voters; rather, they only represent the opinions of those who watch debates.

Following the debate, pop sensation Taylor Swift endorsed the 59-year-old vice president.

When it came to who in the debate understood their problems better, viewers were sharply divided: 44% of them thought Ms. Harris did, while 40% supported Mr. Trump. However, debate viewers also gave Mr. Trump a 23-point edge over other candidates for commander in chief and immigration handling. According to the flash poll, they gave Ms. Harris a nine-point advantage in defending abortion rights and democracy.
