Tehran: According to early Wednesday reports from state media, at least 28 Pakistani pilgrims who were on their way to Iraq for a Shiite Muslim ceremony perished in a bus crash in central Iran.
According to state television, on Tuesday night, “a bus carrying 51 Pakistani pilgrims overturned and caught fire in front of Dehshir-Taft checkpoint in the central province of Yazd.”
“So far, 28 people have died and 23 have been injured, and the death toll could rise,” it continued.
