The Revolutionary Guards of Iran say they might hold off on taking revenge on Israel.
Iran may have to wait a long time before retaliating against Israel, according to a spokesman for the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
At a press conference on Tuesday, Ali Mohammad Naini stated that Iranian commanders who were involved in making decisions would evaluate all circumstances before taking precisely calculated action.
The spokesperson stated that Tehran may take a while to respond and that Iran will determine the timing.
Following the death of Ismail Haniyeh, a prominent figure in the Islamic organization Hamas, in Tehran last month, tensions in the Middle East are still high. Iran declares that it will avenge Israel.
President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi of Egypt and US Secretary of State Antony Blinken met on Tuesday as well. In the talks between Israel and Hamas over the cease-fire and hostages, Egypt is one of the mediators.
Blinken and Sisi reaffirmed the necessity of an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, according to the Egyptian presidential office.
According to reports in the Arab media, fresh negotiations will take place in Egypt on Thursday and Friday.
But given the severe differences that still exist between Israel and Hamas in the negotiations, there is still little chance of a breakthrough.
Israeli forces are still on the attack throughout the Gaza Strip.
Ten people, including children, were killed when a school in northern Gaza City was bombed, according to reports from Palestinian media on Tuesday. Numerous civilians were reportedly housed in the building.
