At a London performance, Taylor Swift meets Southport attack survivors backstage.Taylor Swift has reportedly met with two survivors of the deadly Southport stabbing attack.
The young admirers, who wish to remain anonymous due to legal concerns, had a backstage meeting with the American pop singer and her mother, Andrea, during one of her London performances.
Swift’s line “you drew stars around my scars” seemed to be written on a bandage that one of the girls had on.
A social media user wrote, “The biggest thank you to @TaylorSwift and her mum for making the most magical night possible for us all.”The stabbing attack occurred late last month at a Swift-themed yoga and dance workshop for kids in Southport, England, who’d just begun their summer vacation. In addition to several more children and adults suffering serious injuries, three girls lost their lives in the attack. Bebe King, age six; Elsie Dot Stancombe, age seven; and Alice Aguiar, age nine, were the three girls named as deceased.
Axel Rudakubana, a 17-year-old boy, was detained after the attack and charged with three counts of murder, ten counts of attempted murder, and one count of weapon possession. The attacker’s identity was the subject of several online hoaxes and rumors, including the arrest of a Muslim immigrant, before Rudakubana was named by the court. In addition, the judge who decided to identify Rudakubana referenced the far-right rioting that followed the attack in Southport and other parts of the United Kingdom.
