Air India Crew Member Assaulted in London Hotel; Airline Provides Support and Shifts Staff

An Air India cabin crew member was allegedly assaulted inside her hotel room in London, prompting a swift response from the airline. Air India has confirmed the incident, which occurred late last night at a hotel operated by a major international chain near Heathrow Airport.

In a statement, Air India expressed deep concern over the “unlawful incident of intrusion”. It confirmed that it provides immediate assistance to the affected crew member, including professional counseling to help her and her colleagues cope with the trauma.

“We are deeply anguished by an unlawful incident of intrusion at a hotel, operated by a major international chain, that affected one of our crew members. We are providing all possible support to our colleague and their broader team, including professional counseling,” the airline stated.

The crew member was moved to a different hotel in London as part of the airline’s response. Sources indicated that the motive behind the attack is still unclear, but the injuries sustained by the crew member were not severe.

The accused, identified as a Nigerian citizen, has been arrested in connection with the incident. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the assault as Air India focuses on supporting its staff and ensuring their safety.
