According to officials, two men who were discovered dead in a burnt-out car in Sweden were British citizens. Juan Cifuentes and Farooq Abdulrazak were reported missing in July after failing to return home from a business trip to Denmark and Sweden.Swedish prosecutors say they have now identified remains as belonging to the two men.
Prosecutor Magnus Petterson told Sky News that a “large murder investigation” remains in place, as well as a public appeal for information related to the case.
“We are trying to figure out exactly what happened on the spot, why the British nationals were in Malmo and what happened after,” he said.
