Australian hockey player arrested allegedly trying to buy cocaine in Paris

A member of the Australian hockey team is in custody after being arrested in Paris, the Australian Olympic Committee has confirmed.
The 28-year-old team member was arrested for allegedly trying to buy cocaine, the Paris Public Prosecutor’s office said.
No charges have been laid and the AOC said it is continuing to make enquiries and arrange support for the team member.

It is not known if the person in question is from the men’s or women’s team, or if it is a player or member of the staff.

The Paris Public Prosecutor’s office said an Australian was arrested outside a building in the city’s ninth arrondissement on Wednesday (AEST).
