A member of the Australian hockey team is in custody after being arrested in Paris, the Australian Olympic Committee has confirmed.
The 28-year-old team member was arrested for allegedly trying to buy cocaine, the Paris Public Prosecutor’s office said.
No charges have been laid and the AOC said it is continuing to make enquiries and arrange support for the team member.
It is not known if the person in question is from the men’s or women’s team, or if it is a player or member of the staff.
Both the Hockeyroos and Kookaburras were eliminated from the Olympics at the quarter-final stage this week.Follow all the action from Paris
